organized by the International Precious Metals Institute, June 7-10, 2008.

SAFINA, a.s. presented its new technology in a form of a technical
presentation titled "PGM Catalysts Treatment In Plasma Heated Reactors"
within the IPMI 32nd Annual conference.

On 30th May 2008 the construction of plasma smelting plant (PlasmaEnvi^®) was finished and this new technology was put into operation. The project was co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund and Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic.

Since October 1st, 2007 SAFINA will start its business activities with a strategic transformation of technical and production departments. The purpose of this transformation is the achievement of higher efficiency in production and technical processes, increase of production´s capacity and expansion in the area of development of new products and their subsequent production.

On August 7th, 2007 proceeded successfully a control audit performed by the LRQA company. The audit was focused on meeting requirements of the ISO 9001:2000 standards.

On 20th July new workshop for platinum program was officially opened. This new workshop was designed under new modern standards with emphasis on material flows, ergonomic arrangement of machines and also workspace. The improvement in working conditions of employees was another objective of the new workshop. Several parts of manufacturing equipment were also renovated. All these changes will help us to achieve further improvement in the production quality standard of platinum program, which is already very high.
