Is SAFINA ISO certified?

Is SAFINA wire NIST traceable?

All thermocouple wire calibration results and data are traceable to NIST by calibrating against Pt-67 wire.

What standards does SAFINA use to calibrate?

Safina thermocouple wire is produced in compliance with ASTM E220-07a and ASTM E230 and the standard EN 60584 – 1. EN 60584 – 1 stems from the international temperature range ITS -90 and complies with the temperature limits defined in IEC 584 – 2.

How does SAFINA calibrate thermocouple wire?

Safina provides fixed point calibration services that are accredited by the Czech Institute for Accreditation according to DIN EN ISO / IEC 17015:2005. Reference materials: Zn (419.527 ⁰ C), Al (660.323 ⁰ C), Ag (961.78 ⁰ C), Au (1064.18 ⁰ C), Pd (1553.5 ⁰ C).

What does SAFINA calibrate?

Each manufactured batch is tested and provided with calibration data and a quality certificate. Batches are calibrated using the exact finished wire diameter shipped and all wire samples are obtained from the front, middle and back of each wire lot.

What is special limits or “reference grade”?

Types R and S are available in special limits (+/- 0.6⁰ C or 0.1%) and standard grade (+/- 1.5⁰ C or 0.25%). Type B is available in special limits (0.25% ⁰ C). “Reference grade” is an industry term referring to special limits wire.

What physical characteristics are checked?

All wire is annealed, cleaned and checked to assure uniform surfaces that promote wire life and performance. Special customer requirements including tensile strength and elongation test results can be supplied upon request.

What diameters does SAFINA make?

SAFINA produces a full range of diameters including custom diameters. Wire diameter is uniform and within limits of +/- 0.0002”.

What thermocouple wire types does SAFINA make?

SAFINA manufactures paired thermocouple types R (Pt v Pt13Rh) S (Pt v Pt10Rh) and B (Pt6Rh v Pt30Rh). Single legs R-/S- (pure Pt), S+ (Pt10Rh), R+ (Pt13Rh), B- (Pt6Rh) and B+ (Pt30Rh) are also available.
