Calibration laboratories

Calibration laboratories are built with the objective to calibrate temperature measuring instruments - i.e. thermocouple probes made of precious metals. They are used in the glass, petrochemical or metallurgical industries.

Methods for measuring thermoelectric cells

In the calibration laboratory, we perform EMF measurements of thermocouples made of precious metals of the S, R and B types within the temperature range of 400-1,600 °C , using the comparison method or the fixed points method.

For the fixed points calibration method, we use the following sample materials: Zn (419.527 °C), Al (660.323 °C), Au (1,064.18 °C) and Pd (1,553.5 °C); we use three samples with a diameter of 0.5 mm. Before measurement, thermocouples are annealed by electric current. The samples are collected at the beginning, in the middle and at the end of the given produced batch.

Why should you rely on us?

Our calibration laboratories operate in compliance with the requirements of standard ČSN EN ISO/IEC 17025. Since 2005, they have been accredited by the Czech Accreditation Institute with number K 2329. We have an extensive know-how, based on our many years of experience.
